Filling the Learning Agreement Form

While choosing the courses, please ensure that you have read the course syllabus and checked the language of instruction. After reviewing the course catalog, please get in touch with your Dokuz Eylul University academic coordinator first before filling in the Online Learning Agreement. Your Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinator can provide you with up-to-date information regarding the status of the courses. It is important that you select the courses with the guidance provided by your Erasmus+ coordinator.

For detailed information about the courses, you can check our course catalog: https://debis.deu.edu.tr/ders-katalog/2025-2026/eng/index.html

Please also visit the Faculty webpage to check the curriculum of each department (in Turkish) for the current academic year .

Courses Instructed in English:

General Information on Attendance, Exams, and Grading

Attendance Requirements

  • Attendance at lectures and other academic activities is compulsory.
    • At least 70% attendance is required for theoretical courses.
    • At least 80% attendance is required for practice and/or laboratory sessions.
  • Students who fail to meet attendance requirements lose the right to take the final exam and automatically fail the course. They must retake the course, fulfill attendance requirements, and pass it.
  • Medical reports do not exempt students from attendance obligations.

Exams & In-Semester Participation

  • Students must attend all mid-term exams and other required in-semester activities: mid-terms, assignments, group work, projects, field studies, laboratory sessions and exams.
  • A student who fails to attend any mid-term, in-semester activity, final, or resit exam without a valid and accepted excuse by the Faculty Board will receive a grade of zero for that exam/activity.

Exam Admission Rules

  • Each student must carry their student ID card during the exam.
  • Students who do not have their ID card, cannot be recognized, or cannot verify their identity by other means may not be admitted to the exam.
  • During the exam, students must comply with all instructions of the exam supervisors.
  • If necessary, exam supervisors may rearrange students’ seating.

Grading and Success Criteria

  • The raw success grade of a course is calculated by combining the student’s performance in in-semester activities and the final exam grade, according to the weights specified in the course evaluation criteria.
  • If the final or resit exam grade is below 35, the student is excluded from relative evaluation and automatically assigned a grade of FF (fail) for that course.
  • At the end of the relative evaluation process, each student is assigned a letter grade by the course instructor, indicating the level of achievement.
  • The success levels and coefficients corresponding to the letter grades are shown in the following table:

Medical Reports and Make-up Exams

  • Students who cannot attend mid-term exams due to health issues (or similar reasons) must submit a medical report.
  • Reports must be issued by a public or private hospital. Reports from private clinics are not valid.
  • Medical reports must be submitted to the Faculty Dean’s Office (with a petition) within 5 working days after the end date of the report.
  • Eligible students may take the make-up exams during the previously announced period.
  • During the period covered by a medical report, students are considered absent and cannot attend any classes or exams.
  • If a student attends classes or exams during this period, the exam results are invalid, and the student loses the right to make-up exams.
  • To return to classes/exams before the report expires, the student must submit a new medical report proving recovery.
  • Valid excuses include: medical report, death of a first-degree relative, or official assignment/leave document.
  • A make-up exam is held only once; no second make-up exam is provided.
  • No make-up exam is given for final or resit exams, except for students representing Türkiye in international competitions or attending official preparation camps.
